Fears of a fuel spillage on the A78 trunk road between Largs and Greenock have been played down by road maintenance company Amey.
Social media forums in the area reported concerns over the "spill" and Amey were alerted to the matter just before 7am today.
But a spokesperson for the company, who maintain the South-West Trunk Road network, said they found nothing to report
They added: "An Amey Incident Support Unit (ISU) was dispatched to respond and arrived on site at 7.50am this morning to discover no trace of a spillage."
